Happiness Has A Name !
Happy New Year 2015!!
The start of each year is always a time of celebration around the world. The happiness on the faces of people is what most people want for a lifetime. People hoping for a better future full of success and prosperity, good heathy and happier days.
Yet, one is lucky to stay happy for just a month. Life often happens and most are left to wonder what the year holds for them.
If you are like me I cling to a scripture like; For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
The question is why do most people fail to hold on to this? Why can't happiness, the one thing everyone craves just be steadily available always?
It is clear that those who have not found the source of happiness, try to get it in fragile places. Places that look realistically attractive, yet temporal.
That dream job you have always wanted, a new car, a house, your spouse( you don't get marry to be happy), reaching your dream weight, etc. All these are good but the motive behind them need a source of refreshment. If not, they won't keep you happy.
The source of happiness in life has a name! His name is Jesus.
Once you realize this simple truth in life, your world changes for the better.
True happiness comes from the joy of knowing The Lord. Understanding the wisdom about the source of happiness comes from the fear of The Lord.
He gives us wisdom to learn to be content with what he gives and not what the world offers. Temporal happiness is what the world offers. What God offers is eternal and Spirit lead.
Because the source of happiness lives in us in spirit form, we have joy that surpasses all understanding. The Spirit is greater than what the world offers.
... because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4 NIV)
So as the New Year begins, life will happen but make the source of happiness your friend. Let Jesus Christ be the reason you are happy as you take all your worries to him in prayers.
He is a faithful friend that knows and cares about our being. Always readily available waiting for us to come to him with humble hearts.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? (Matthew 6:25-26 NIV)
Our Heavenly Father values us deeply and wants us to rest in his arms daily. The one true source of happiness, Jesus is his names.
