Consistent Prayers

Everyone has a story of how they met their Prince Charming. Yours maybe be more exciting than others. Or maybe, more awkward than others. Well, let me give you a chance to make the judgment in my situation. January 2007 was when it all started in South Bend Indiana. For those of you who don't know, January is the coldest, snowiest month of the year with icy roads. As the weather forecaster always says, "if you have no reason to be outside, stay indoors." For several years, I made it a habit to journal  important events in my life . This relates to many African families when their father dies. It's worst in most cases when the children are younger. Not many are fortunate to have family members to help them. Victory in Christ Jesus conquers this evil culture when mourning families turn to The Lord as is our case. It is the truth you know that will set you free.  It's been a year without you daddy. It's like a dream yet, it is realty. I miss your presence here each passing day. All the laughs and straight talks with you resonate in my mind. You were the best daddy a girl could ever ask for, my greatest cheerleader and fan. The best grandpa to my girls and the best Father-in-law to my husband. You protected me from predators always and provided the very best for me.  This year without you has taught me a lot. Thank you for teaching me the importance of abiding in The Vine. This is to all believers. Have you ever wondered who your neighbor will be in heaven? Or who will be standing next to you at worship service in heaven? How will this world look like if there was just one race? Boring ! Look at it this way; I love flowers so I will use flowers for an example to start with.  What about all flowers had just one color, black? What about all we ever ate was rice? What about all houses were built the same and painted the same color? What about all cars on the road were Toyota and painted white? I could go on and on. God is a beautiful God. He loves variety. We can see His taste in all of creation. From plants to animal, fish in the oceans; everything He created comes in different shapes, colors.  There is beauty in variety. What if, we enjoy our differences. One thing we all have in common despite our skin color is, if you cut us open, red blood flows from our veins. The sacrificial blood of Jesus is what unites us. To think I'm 35 today could either be joyful or bring about stress. I could focus only on what I'm not or stress about what I still have to achieve. Yet, I know and understand that I have control over my emotions, and I am the choices I make thus will magnify only the good.  For this reason I choose to focus only on the things that will bring growth; to surround myself with people that build me up and focus only on the reason why I was born. That reason is to make a difference in the world around my sphere of influence by being an oracle of God. With this, I will stress not, and praise more because His anointed Son lives in me. Thus, His anointing flows in my Spirit.  With the revelation that I am not only what you see, but have a spirit the same as that of Christ, I walk boldly knowing Christ is with me always.
