Happy Birthday to my Proverb 31 Mother!

Mamie! As we all call you but, answer "yes mommy when you call us". Happy 57th Birthday! My prayer for you today is;  "May the almighty God continue to make you the woman you truely are. Mother to so many children even, when all your kids are grown and out. May God give you the strength you need each day and the wisdom you need to lead those under your care. May you be blessed with many more years so that you can enjoy the fruits you toiled for. I wish you so much laughter for it is good for your soul. May you be blessed abundantly for you are such a blessings. I pray for divine protection over you each and may your cup be full all the days of your life. Happy birthday Mamie!!" Amen I can write a book if I need to talk about you mom. But I will say it all in a few sentences. I love you and can't thank God enough for you. You are the best mother I could ask for from God! You are truely the proverb 31 woman. We've gone through a lot as a family and I'...

Be generous with your illuminating light.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14, 16 NIV) God's light in you is not meant to be hidden. Instead, let it shine so that others may see your Savior. Are you ashamed of your light? If so, pray that God should make you bold. That is also my prayer as I personally struggle with speaking in public. "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord ..." (2 Timothy 1:7, 8 NIV) As a woman that prays, you stand out different in the world and others see it. Your light illuminates and causes others to question what makes you different. Why do you seem to handle things so calmly? Why do you have such peace in the mist of struggle? Why do you care so much about the poor and needy? Why are you always happy? ...  Th...

The Woman That Prays Fears The Lord!

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10 NIV) Do you fear The Lord?  God wants us to have a personal relationship with him. It is through this relationship that we begin to understand the things of the way. When we fear God he gives us wisdom about life, and how to go about things that bring him honor. " A loving fear relationship " unlike other humans that create fear and terror, that make us stay away from them, God is loving. He cares soo much about us and wants us to get to know him. We fear how mighty He is and the power He has over all of creation. Yet, he is so loving that he gave us a manual (The Bible) about life and how to live. We will never understand fully the mystery of God. Our faith gives us the peace we need in believing in Him. "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5...

The Woman That Prays is Forgiving!

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. ” (Mark 11:25 NIV) Forgiveness is freeing and healing. Are you holding on to past hurts that are weighing you down? Scars that are painful and open up deep wounds. If you consider yourself to be the woman that prays, then you have to learn to forgive.  Just as the bible states, we have to be able to forgive others first for God to forgive us. A unforgiving heart is a sinful heart. And sin hinders our prayers to God. We want our prayers to be heard by God, thus we have to forgive others. When we forgive, we are set free from the burden and weight of sin. Let Jesus deal with your pain. Go to the foot of the cross and cast all your burdens to him. " Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. " (Psalm 55:22 NIV) Don't forget that you are a model to your children. By ...

The Woman that prays submits to her husband.

Are you married to an unbeliever who does not want to hear or learn the truth of the Gospel? You are not alone and God knows your situation. He gave the solution in the bible. Win your husband to Christ through your gentle spirit and without words.  Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, (1 Peter 3:1 NIV) Stop trying to boss him around. Be mindful of what you say to him especially when people are around. Men love to be respected. Give him a chance to lead the family. He will be accountable to God for his actions. Take your kids to church even if he stays home on Sundays. Get involve in your church and have other believers join you in praying for your husband. There is power in praying together and for each other. Never stop loving him! Pray that God should make you to be more affectionate towards him. Especially, when you don't feel like it. Do ...

My Gratitude letter: Have you ever thought of what you are greatful for despite the storms and struggles of life?

Have you ever thought of what you are greatful for despite the storms and struggles of life? Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV). I have always wanted to write a thank you letter to everyone at once. You would  wonder why, but something in me just want to say thank you. This is what my heart wants to say. Thank you God  for the gift of life, for blessing me first with my parents and siblings. Now you have blessed me with a beautiful family of my own. Thank you that I was born in Cameroon and you have given me the opportunity to live in another country. Thank you lord for all the people you put along life's path in each season of my life. Thank you lord for the strength you give me each day to go through this life. Thank you to my parents,  for all that you have done for me and still doing. Thank you for bringing me up in a military style home. I h...

A method of prayer

Prayer is communication with God and there is really no particular recipe to It.  It is the same way you would talk to your parents. We all have access to God through prayers but sin is an ocean and separates us from the Almight. Jesus is the mediator that grants us access to him. Prayer is a  two way communication with God.  Remember to be still and  listen to what  God has to say. God communicates to us in our language, so no need to change your voice trying to be proper. In order to reach God through our prayers, we have to remove this ocean. The only way of doing this is by confession (1John 1:9). Jesus' blood on the cross washed our sins away thus the blood of Christ is a cleanser of sins. The question is, how should we pray?  This question came from one of my readers who was honest enough to ask me. Thank you and sorry that I assumed everyone knows how to pray. God later put in my heart to explain to my readers this helpful guide...

Our Citizenship: One Nation under God

Image
Do all lives matter in your Kingdom? But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (Philippians 3:20, 21 NIV) Why should this be a reminder to me? I have read this message before and yes, those who believe in Jesus Christ as The Son of God and the only way to the Father are promised eternal life in heaven. "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (John 17:3 NIV). This promise is our hope as followers of Christ, and it gives us peace the world can't offer. If you are a foreign born resident like me, you understand what it takes to adjust your residency in a different country. First, the cultural shock then, learning a new culture can be very challenging. Leaving your family and friends behind in majorit...

How God Answered a Passion He Put in Me for 10 years. Part 2

From the pictures you can see that God will always be our provider (Jehovah Jireh) "And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19 NLT).  When God puts a passion our hearts, he provides all what is needed to accomplish his plans. The question is: Are we willing to obey our Savior? It was such a blessing to be at this orphanage to deliver the toys on time before Christmas. I told the kids how I had been praying for them for years, long  before some of them were born.  I explained the story of how God answered my prayer and provided the toys for them. The most important thing was not the toys but the gift of Christ at Christmas.  “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world th...

Pictures from answered prayers. I included pictures from my husbands medical missions because God used him to answer my prayers! Part 2 of the story will be up tomorrow. " Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." (James 1:27)

How God Answered A Passion He put in me for 10 years

How God Answered A Passion He put in me for 10 years Part 1 My very first Christmas here in America made me realize the reason I always longed to spend the summers with my grandma. During these summers, I saw what most people will term poverty but yet a very high level of contentment. There were kids without shoes, young girls with babies, least to say babies having babies. To me, there were very poor but the look on their faces showed contentment. They played in the dust, drank contaminated water from streams, had “jicka’s” (foot parasites) on their toes but all the same happy. I later realized these kids were happy because they had strong relationships. Besides, they did not miss nice shoes and clean clothes because they never had it before. The message here is you don’t miss what you have never had, or seen. Poverty can be a state of mind, although it exist, it can be created by human discontentment.- E.A My new environment in America only gave me flash backs of what I...

Why Consistent Prayer?

I know most of you after reading my blog should be wondering why I decided to pick such a title. The first thing you see as you log on the page is Consistent Prayers.  As long as I can remember I’ve been taught to pray before bed, when I wake, during meals, at school devotions, after school and you can name the rest. My parents made me do it especially since my mom is a school teacher in a mission school. Part of it is because mission schools teach their students the importance of always keeping in touch with God. Most students don’t like this especially if they are from homes that did not practice it or just the human sin nature. “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” ( Ephesians 6:18). From the verse you can see that we are commanded to always keep on praying. We were created to worship our creator God. “ God is Spirit and worshipers must worship in spirit ...

My Calling

My Calling As a child, I have always known God was calling me to ministry but I resisted this a lot. This put me in a very miserable state having that voice inside me telling me not to do the things I badly wanted which were wrong. I’ve even had people encourage me to consider being a reverend sister of course, that did not happen. Yet, I wanted to do what my friends did and kept pushing this aside. My conscience was killing me inside like an audible voice always trying to redirect me. I finally decided to minor in Bible while in college as a way to stop this voice from stressing me up. How I wish I had someone to encourage me answer my calling.  While in nursing school I finally convinced myself that I could minister to people while doing my job. This was far from what God wanted from me for he did not want me to be a nurse. I was trying to be a nurse because it is a profession that guarantees a job at any given time especially as an immigrant. Battling with serving the ...

My Story

What I have learned over the years is that your life is your story. You will think I will write about my life from childhood till now right! Oh no! When I mean story it means the story about my salvation. The typical person would say something like this “ I grew up in a Christian home and my parents went to church and took me with them which makes them a Christian” or “ my family never went to church but they talk about God and I went to a Christian school and it makes them a Christian.” Well, all these and much more are typical of todays church goers. What you will be reading is the story of a regular woman that seeks after God’s heart. I was raised a Presbyterian and what I remember most as a child is my parents waking us up at 5 a.m for devotions. Yes, we had to start the day with devotions for many years but this gradually stopped and I remember asking my mother as a teenager why we did not do this anymore. Her respond was you get us up to start again only this time you w...
