God turns our marriage mess into a marriage ministry!

Image
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? (Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 NIV) My marriage journey has been the most challenging so far in my life. Yet God has changed me in so many ways. I've learned and accepted that the only way out to a successful marriage is putting God first. He knows our mess already so why hide them from him. One thing I told my husband a lot when we first got married was I'm not perfect. He did not understand why I repeatedly told him this when he pointed at my imperfections. On the contrary his job as a physician had taught him to be perfect. What a mess for perfection to meet imperfection. We struggled and clashed a lot about our differences. Things even got worse because our messy family backgrounds had lots of hu...

Our speech says a lot about us!

He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” (Mark 7:20-23 NIV) Our thoughts when left to dwell in evil thinking leads us to sin. Don't stain yourself with all these evil thoughts. Pray and ask God to change your thinking. It may cost you to cut off some friends that cause you to sin. Yes friends can harm you. If you are married to one that is negative, then pray for God to change his heart. Also, be an example by thinking before you speak. Think of every word that comes from your mouth and the impact it has on others. Get in the word and know what it says. Instead, think of these; Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely...

What is your heritage ?

I almost hard a head ache today trying to make my point through with a group of people about our heritage. First, if you live in America you or your generations back came from somewhere. Except you are a Native American. If you doubt this read your history. If you live in another country different from where your fore fathers came from you have a heritage. If we are God's children then, we are his heritage anyways. Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3 NIV)  My point is, God made us to belong and identity ourselves to a group of people. And we should be proud of our heritage for God did not make a mistake.  Accepting our heritage is being humble not only to our new environment but also to God. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6, 7 NIV) Our fear of people judging us due to our he...

Are you beautiful enough?

Image
Yes you are beautiful and you need to accept it! Have you found yourselves hating what you see on the mirror? Maybe you have never had anyone look at you in the eyes and utter these words " you are beautiful because God created you." (You are beautiful because God created you.) Everything God created is very beautiful. If you are a born again Christain and have   God living inside of you, it means your Spirit is beautiful and perfect just like God. This part of you can not be seen, but it is the renewed you.  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV) Do not let anyone tell you otherwise! Know the truth about true beauty. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of grea...

A Faith Based Religion

A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed. (Mark 1:40-42 NIV) When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” (Mark 2:5 NIV) It is a faith based religion. Christianity is a walk by faith and not sight. Faith is believing in what we have not seen. We trust God although we have not seen him but, have confidence in his word (the absolute truth) for our life.  In our faith walk, God grants us sight. He opens our eyes to the things he wants us to know about him. He shows us things we can not see with our human eyes. I will share more on how God opened my spiritual sight later. We are blind until He takes the shells off. The first passage is about the man with leprosy that heard about the things Jesus was doing, and ...
