Angels at our wedding

We wanted a church wedding to be in Cameroon. This was going to be a thanksgiving occasion to bring both families together for a good reason. Giving thanks to God for all our blessings and for bringing us this far.
Our church wedding was delayed because of documentation issues. We prayed a lot about this asking God for guidance and how to go about things.
The dowry was paid, civil wedding done, but the longing to present our marriage before our Heavenly Father seemed distant.
Finally, documentation issues cleared up and there was light in the dark tunnel. God had not forgotten about us. He heard all our cries and made the impossible possible.
He provided every penny needed for travel to Cameroon.
My husband and I prayed and fasted towards this big destination wedding. This was also my first trip back after 11 years. I had dreams about interruptions of the event.
God revealed to me and some close friends before we left about sickness. We prayed constantly covering the travel with the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazereth.
I was certain our enemy was working against us. So we prayed even more as a couple. It was a spiritual battle and needed spiritual weapons(THE WORD).
We fasted for 3 days prior to traveling. It was clear this was a spiritual battle thus we needed to put on the armor of God.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11 NIV)
The Holy Spirit revealed to us what to watch for while in Cameroon.
Three days before the church wedding was the official traditional wedding. I was going to be handed over to my husbands family the way it is done in our culture.
We could not do this before because I could not travel and my family accepted the dowry as a symbol of out traditional marriage. This was first done in our absence.
To cut things short my husband had severe food poisoning this night. Which means 2 days before the wedding he was admitted into the hospital. I had a call from my mom at about 5 pm saying he was very sick. And that I should come home and pray with him, also, that we should take him to the emergency room.
I was in shock because I saw him an hour prior to this call walking about his business. Immediatley I saw him, it looked exactly like a flashback scene in a dream I had. What God warned me about before we left for Cameroon. Then, I knew it the the devil's attack trying to stop the wedding. We prayed and at this point I needed other believers to come in agreement with me.

I called my church in Indiana and two other pastors in the USA to be in prayers. I was confused yet, I had a peace that only God gave me. One of our pastor friends prayed over water on our way to the hospital and asked him to drink it. About 15 minutes later he had projectile vomiting. God had healed him from the stomach attack and all he needed was rest.
We spent the night in the hospital and all other wedding plans where disrupted. It was a scary situation as fear of no wedding happening on Saturday consumed the family. By noon of Friday, he checked out of the hospital.
God shattered the plans of the enemy and our church wedding came to pass in Jesus name. It was beautiful with more than 2000 people at the reception.
Our pictures can not tell the craziness of what happened. The reason we made it in Cameroon was to bring family together. All our gifts went to support an orphanage in our village. It was such a blessing to be a blessing to the kids.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:27 NIV)

Our trip was cut short due to another illness I will talk about later and another miracle healing of my daughter.
We returned to America and I had not seen any official pictures of our church wedding due to an unforeseen situation.
We waited impatiently for the photographer to send us the pictures. A day before he sent the first picture, I had a dream. In it God revealed to me what the pictures will look like.
This is the revelation " In your pictures you will notice an unusual lighting in them. And no matter what the photographer tries to do in editing he will not succeed. It is no ordinary rays of light, they are guidian angels I sent down to watch over your wedding. I heard the prayers sent on your behalf."

I slept in that day, but when I woke up from sleep the photographer had sent me the first image of the wedding.
Behold there was that light beam revealed to me in the dream. I was in awe!! I told my husband about the dream and showed him the picture.
“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. (Exodus 23:20 NIV)
I later told the photographer about the meaning of the light and that he should not stress over editing them. When he finally sent us the album, we where amazed at the lighting.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. (Psalm 34:7 NIV)
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:4-5 NIV)
I went through other wedding pictures that took place in that church and they did not have the light. God watches over his children in the deepest darkness. His light has already over-powered the darkness.
All the Glory and honor be given to you oh Lord for your great and mighty hand.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2 NIV)

Amazing story Etonde, our Lord God works in mysterious ways. He has promised never to leave nor forsake His children who call on His name. Through your wedding, He once again showed you what a mighty God you serve. Thank you for sharing your story. It is an inspiration. Remain blessed....Arlene
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Arlene. It is my testimony and I pray others can be encouraged about the power of prayers. God is not distant as most people have made Him to be. He is close and personal to those who call on His name.

ReplyDeleteWiyli, thanks for reading! I stand to testify about the things God is revealing and teaching me through consistent prayers. The good news is, He can do the same to others, but submitting to Him is the first and accepting that He loves to much and sent His only son to die on the cross for our sins and on the third day He conquered death. In death, believers are made alive forever. And for us living on earth, He shines his light on us in this very dark word.
