Bad dreams
At about 4:15 a.m our girls came running into our room because of a bad dream. I was up already to use the bathroom and noticed I was dreaming about someone that does not like us. Usually I will say a prayer and go back to sleep.
Over the years what I've learned with my walk with God is, He wakes me up at night to pray. I know for sure the devil is up to no good at such moments.
My 4 year said " mommy can we sleep with you please? We had a very bad dream" what was strange is both of them came. Did she wake her sister? I asked her what the dream was about and she said " a very bad dream please let's get in your bed."
Right when they came in, my husband had gotten up to use the bathroom. Which was good because we were all up.
I reminded them that Jesus is with them always and they should call on his name when afraid. I took them back to thier room and my husband and I went on our knees by thier bed and prayed with them.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18 NIV)
Talk about praying in the Spirit at this hour. I knew for sure something was not right. So we sent out the spirit of bad dreams in the name of Jesus. Asking for the Holy Spirit to fill our home and for angels to stand guard around thier bed.
What is so powerful about prayer is the Spirit tells us what to prayer about. While we were praying other things where revealed that we needed to pray about.
And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. (Romans 8:27 NIV)
We could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit this early morning. We assured the kids that Jesus is with them and they went back to sleep.
...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 NIV)
We try to teach our kids the importance of praying and also model it to them. My prayer is for the Light of Christ to shine in thier hearts at a tender age. May they experience Divine protection and go to Christ for safety and protection.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. (Psalm 91:4-6 NIV)
Jesus wants us to bring the children to him.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14 NIV)
