Love is not a feeling.
The love everyone is searching for can be found only in Christ Jesus. God is love.
Why do people not get this?
In my opinion, I strongly believe it is due to unbelieving hearts that have rejected God and a lack of knowledge.
Listen to what prophet Hosea says;
my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. (Hosea 4:6 NIV)
The good news about this passage is, it was written before the death of Christ on the cross. Which means God has not rejected us. We reject him when we go our own way. Rejecting The atonement of the sacrificial lamb of God (Jesus Christ), is what will take you to hell.
The chosen children of God had turned from their God. Which is what is happening now in the world today.
Have in mind that we are all God's children. God called Israel( believers in Christ) to be a light to other nations, so that through them He could show the world what unconditional love is all about.
Just as they failed and rejected God, we all have gone astray.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6 NIV)
Despite the fall of man, God still loved us so much and had to become man to redeem us. It is His nature to love.
God had to take an action, thus the saying " love is an action and not a feeling." God saw that there was no righteous man on earth at the time.
Yes, he did!
You must have read this or heard this before. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)
Through this action believers are made righteous because of He that lives in them. What the world is searching for is in all believers in Christ. Our Spirit is the same as that of Christ. It is the born again part of us. This makes us "little Christ".
This was, is his perfect plan of salvation. An action that showed the world what unconditional love is all about.
God who is Spirit had to become man and walk the earth, suffered and died for all our transgressions. But he did not stay dead. He conquered the grave and by doing so, he got the keys of hell.
I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. (Revelation 1:18 NIV)
He took control of this world again. He became King two thousand years ago. Thus, believers have control (authority) over the enemy because of Christ in them.
He took this action out of love so that a once condemned world through sin should have abundant life. A life that never ends.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:17 NIV)
There is something people are missing. What is it then?
All God's children that have been born again have love living inside of them ( what the world is searching for).
Yes, this is true.
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32 NIV)
Then how comes I'm still searching for love or to be loved? If you just asked yourself this question listen.
Believers who are still longing for love are those who do not listen to the Spirit of God living inside of them. These are the most miserable people on the earth. The voice speaks but they just do not listen.
The "Healthy Voice" as my friend Meredith Schoeller calls it, is always prompting us at all times. This voice is love and God is love.
God promised to be with us always and his word is always true. God is a spirit and his voice is also a spirit.
The thing is the voice of God is a gentle and still voice that needs to be activated by us. It takes practice to hear him, but once you get this voice activated it is a life changer.
God is a "gentleman" and will not force you to act against your will or listen to him. We usually realize he was speaking only after we go our way. He then points to us in a flashback. " see, I was telling you ahead of time but you did not listen." Which is the reason people do not hear him.
Unbelievers do not yet have the Spirit of God living inside of them. But because all humans are created with a God filled vacuum, they try to fill the vacuum with worldly love. What the world things love is " a feeling". And yes, they fail at it.
This is the reason people fail at loving each other when love becomes a feeling. The reason why we have the high divorce rates in the world. The reason of all the abortions and teenage pregnancies and sexual lust.

It is until you come to the realization that, what you are searching for can only be found in Christ, it is then that you are set free from your search.
Salvation in Christ is free to all mankind. It is a love action taken by God to set us free from worldly bondage.
Those who keep searching for love is because they have rejected the good news of Christ Jesus. They have rejected the reason why Love (God) became man.
Are you still searching for Love or to be loved?
No human can fill that vacuum in you, but God himself. Let he who is love fill your hearts with the love available to all mankind. You are his creation and he wants to be a part of your life. Life with him is more fulfilling.
Accept Christ as Lord and Savior of your life and become a new you.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)
Let he who is love teach us how to love beyond our feelings.
Turn down the volume around you and listen to the voice of God. The voice that guides our path is the voice of Love, what the world is searching for.
When you hear it, you will recognize him. Although gentle and still, it is sharper than any two edged sword.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NIV)
That voice is the word and the word is God and God is love. What the world needs. It is what people are searching for.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)
