Baby On A Mission!
This was no ordinary baby born two thousand years ago. The reason the world celebrates His Virgin birth proves His supernatural deity. God took a human form in Christ Jesus. God is Spirit and needed flesh to walk the earth. "The Word Became Flesh."
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 NKJV
Have you ever wondered why it took God four thousand years to send His Son?
No man could fully obey God to carry forth the redemptive plan because man had a sin nature. This baby was without sin and is our living redeemer.
“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
Romans 3:21-26 NKJV
For us to enter into relationship with God, we have to be righteous just as He is righteous. Our spirit is the born again part of us that is sinless. The finished works of the cross is what makes us righteous.
This Christmas I decided to include a candy cane on our nativity scene. The story behind the candy cane tells the story of Jesus. This gave me another opportunity to explain to our kids the reason why this special baby we celebrate was born.
He came to reconcile us back to God. God demonstrated unconditional love towards man when Jesus Christ became the sacrificial lamb. He became sin on the cross making all who believe in his birth, death and resurrection the righteousness of God.
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
II Corinthians 5:20-21 NKJV
Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission.
His mission was accomplished when he conquered death and now sits at the right hand of the father and the enemy at his footstool. This is good news because since Christ lives in us, the enemy of this world is under our feet.
Because he sits at the right hand of the father, God has done his part; Grace. Believers have a part to play which is to reach out in faith and enjoy everything made available on the cross. Good health and prosperity in every area of life, all the fruit of the Spirit, getting back a hundred fold in this lifetime when we serve God alone.
“So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
Mark 10:29-30 NKJV
My question for you reading this is;
How has the birth, death and resurrection of Christ impacted your life?
His birth has renewed my mind of His knowledge; and how the lack of His knowledge will let the enemy steal, kill and destroy me.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 NKJV
Every child born has a mission on earth. To experience the supernatural relationship of a good God and share their faith story. The things God is doing in them that they can't do life with their natural human limitations.
“that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.”
Philemon 1:6 NKJV
We overcome the enemy by our testimony. “Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
Revelation 12:10-11 NKJV
If we are the righteousness of God, it means everything Jesus did while he walked the earth we can do the same and even greater things. We can't be superficial anymore if a righteous Spirit is in us. We were meant to be supernatural just like baby Jesus was supernaturally conceived.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
John 14:12-14 NKJV
