Start of another school year!

Njuamboh finally gets to ride the bus to school. And this too came to pass.

I don't know about you but this summer for my family was one of a kind. Everything happened to fast and I was that parent doing the last minute back to school shopping. My daughter looked forward to school with all excitement.

I was excited for her but as usual all the craziness of the world crept in. I started to worry about the friends she will make, their background, their values, her teachers, safety, stereotypes etc. Yes, my brain (my natural self) can take me to places that are not pleasing.

The good news is, my spirit started reminding me of this scripture "Cast all (not some) of your anxiety to Jesus for he cares for you". A seed that has been planted in my heart and comes alive when I need it. This seed is what will take me through the school year when fear creeps in, faith takes over.

I have the choice to dwell in God's promises that protects, comforts, counsel, are lifting and come alive in every situation. This is where my peace comes from.

My prayer for my daughter as she starts out the year, is to let the light of Jesus in her heart shine through. This way, she might be an influence in her world as she learns new things.

We laid our hands on her this morning showering her with blessings before sending her off into the world(Zoo).

"Jesus is with you always and there is nothing to be afraid of. You are blessed when you go into school and when you come out.

You shall be the head and not the tail, above and not below.

You shall prosper in wisdom amongst your classmates because of Christ in you. This will attract others to you because of the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of all wisdom.

No plague(cold virus, any sickness or attacks) shall come near you. For he will cover you with his feathers and safe you from any deadly pestilence and arrows that fly by day.

The Lord will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

Surely Goodness and love will follow you all of your school days. For His faithfulness shall be your shield and rampart.

To this we say Amen because all God's promises are true."

What are you worried about as your child starts school?

Speak out loud God's promises for you and your child. They are voice activated. Write them in your heart.
